SDSL ("Symmetric Digital Subscriber Line"). This technology is a "point-to-point" permanent connection (like a traditional leased line), which uses a copper phone line as a high-speed digital link.
Delivering up to 2Mbps of symmetrical bandwidth depending on the local loop length and the quality of the phone line.

SDSL - Symmetric, high-speed broadband connectivity. The alternative to leased lines.
SDSL Q&A
What are the advantages?
There are two great advantages to SDSL. The first is bandwidth flexibility. SDSL Connect offers the ability to upgrade up to 2Mbps.
The second is cost. SDSL dramatically reduces the cost of having a permanent connection with symmetrical bandwidth.

Who can benefit from SDSL?
Any business wishing to trade online. Any office that either hosts it's own servers or needs all employees to have Internet access and email at their desk. Companies who want to stream media such as video or music over the Net. Anyone who either needs to set up a network or uses the Internet heavily (i.e. more than 5 hours a day).

What are the drawbacks of SDSL?
You have to be within 4Km of one of our Equipped exchanges. This is not necessarily 4Km as the crow flies but as the copper wire is laid connecting your premises to us.
4Km is important because it is the point at which the resistance of the copper itself degrades the SDSL signal going across it. This means that we can only guarantee 2Mbps up to 4Km distance.
You can not use the line for voice calls, it will be totally dedicated to the SDSL service.

Our SDSL packages come in a range of bandwidths and contention ratio options to suite every need.
